Spectacular views with relatively easy path for walking and running. It’s possible to go the whole way, although the route on the southern side of the lake is more technical. The steeper northern path accesses trails to several other smaller lakes, which could be worth a detour.
Really impressive, it's the second time in 33 years that i visit this lake and i was impressed, although because of the lack of rain the water level is extremely low. Plenty of trails around it to visit. I had a lovely experience that i can only recommend to all nature lovers.
Easy access to Lake Ritom via the Funicular. Return ticket (Adult) costs 24 CHF. There are different routes to choose from in order to appreciate Lake Ritom and its surroundings. A comfortable walk around the lake takes about 3 hours. Nice footpaths and toilet facilities by the funicular station. Breathtaking scenery of the Swiss Alps, Piotta and Ambri. Highly recommended.
One of the best mountain walks in Ticino. In order to reach Lago Ritom one has to take one of the steepest funiculars of Switzerland. The view from the funicular, the atmosphere in the valley are all very refreshing. There are short hikes from Lago Ritom to two other nearby lakes.
You can either walk from the Ambri-Piotta station(15 minutes) or wait for the bus (you might have to wait a while though). After 10 minutes of funicular you will have reached Piora. From there you will walk about 10 minutes and you will have reached Lake Ritom. Amazing! Make sure to keep on walking so that you don't miss out on the other lakes! Beautiful, breathtaking!
I great place to start a hike. I drove up on the last visit, but I'll take the cable car next time. The road is very narrow and there aren't many places to pass.
